Jefferson City driver crashes into young boy on bicycle

Jefferson City police officers responded to a report of a bike versus vehicle crash at the 2900 block of South Ten Mile Drive around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the crash report, one driver was headed east when a young boy on a bicycle failed to yield and crashed in the roadway.

Police said the boy was not wearing a helmet and was transported to University Hospital to get treated for moderate, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved wore a seat belt and was not injured.
