Southern storm brings rain to parts of Mid-Missouri Friday

A storm system tracking across Arkansas will bring rain to parts of Mid-Missouri Friday into Saturday. Areas south of HWY 50 have the best chance of measurable rain with lower chances north.

Showers will begin as early as daybreak Friday near I-44, gradually lifting north into the afternoon. There could be a few spot showers near I-70 by early evening but most areas along and north of I-70 will stay dry through Friday evening. It will be cool Friday with afternoon temperatures staying in the 50s.

Showers continue Friday night but mainly along and south of I-70. Periods of steady moderate rain are possible in the Ozarks closer to I-44 Friday night where rainfall amounts will be greatest.

Overall, there will be a large difference in rainfall totals in our viewing area with near a half inch or less close to I-70 and trace amounts farther north. Areas south will range from a half inch to 2 inches to near I-44. Rain tapers off through the morning Saturday with a few showers lingering into the afternoon east of HWY 63.
