Warm and Summerlike through Wednesday Afternoon

TODAY: Morning clouds will hold steady across Mid-Missouri and then we’ll see more in the way of sunshine as we head into the afternoon hours. It will feel more like mid-June as temperatures climb into the low to mid 80s. Southerly winds will increase to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph at times.

TONIGHT: Another warm night expected for Mid-Missouri ahead of an approaching cold front. Temperatures will hold steady near 70 degrees, with breezy conditions remaining intact. A line of spotty showers and storms will then begin to approach Mid-Missouri after midnight and track to the southeast. The storms will lose steam the further south they track, but any storms that do form have the potential for damaging winds and quarter size hail. This comes with a marginal risk of severe weather through tomorrow morning.

EXTENDED: Showers could linger along to south of I-70 Thursday morning into early afternoon. It will be cooler Thursday with high temperatures in the upper 60s. A strong storm system will track to our south Friday through Saturday and will bring periods of rain to Mid-Missouri. Heavy rain is possible and we’ll need to monitor for possible flooding this upcoming weekend as rainfall amounts are expected to reach 1 to 3 inches with highest totals south of I-70.
