What’s going around: April 11, 2017
A variety of infections are making mid-Missouri sick this week.
The doctors from Broadway Urgent Care say they are seeing mostly sinus infections in their patients this week. They also say there is a nasty cough going around.
Dr. Tara Flynn, from Mizzou Quick Care and Urgent Care, says she is also seeing infectious illnesses. The most prevalent is strep throat.
Fifths disease is also still making younger children sick. Flynn says Columbia Public Schools even sent out a pamphlet about it. It’s an illness that causes a rash on the cheeks.
She also says patients have been getting salmonella and diarrhea while the number of flu cases is down.
