Severe threat update for Sunday night into Monday afternoon
Into Sunday evening there is a marginal threat in place for northwestern portions of mid-Missouri. Showers and potential storms are looking to hold off until after the 2 AM. A cap in place in the atmosphere means that the atmospheric conditions may inhibit any storms to develop. If we do see storms developing, the main threat will be hail greater than an inch in diameter, along with the potential for damaging winds.
These showers are slowly going to move to the southeast by Monday. There is another severe threat in place for Monday due to the slow progression of the passing cold front. This is another marginal risk, yet this time for southeastern mid-Missouri.
The cold front should be off to the south by Monday evening. This will lead to clear, dry, and slightly cooler conditions for Tuesday. Dry weather will dominate Missouri until late Wednesday evening. We will be tracking this next system as it gets closer. Stay tuned to ABC 17 News on air and online for the most up to date information on any threats that will be impacting you.
