4-year-old dead, 8-year-old seriously injured after crash in Phelps County

A 4-year-old girl is dead after a crash in Phelps County that also left an 8-year-old boy with serious injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the three-car crash happened around 7 p.m. Friday on Highway 72, just east of Highway F.

The crash report says a tow unit from the third car, a Cadillac Escalade, crossed the center line and hit a Jeep Cherokee. That car, which was carrying both children, then flipped on its side and slid into the path of a Ford F150. The Ford F150 and the Jeep collided before the Jeep went off the road and rolled over.

Aries Ridley, 4, was pronounced dead on scene while 8-year-old Samuel Ridley was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver, 30 -year-old Zenora Ridley, suffered minor injuries.
