Mild and Breezy Wednesday Afternoon
TODAY: Another Red Flag Warning is in effect for most of Mid-Missouri, as breezy and dry conditions will stay with us today. Temperatures today will warm into the 60s, under mostly sunny skies. Westerly winds sustained at 10-18 mph will gust as high as 30 mph at times in the afternoon. The Red Flag Warning is in effect until 6 PM this evening for areas along and west of Highway 63.
TONIGHT: Skies will remain mostly clear overnight with winds becoming light under 10 mph. A southerly wind will keep temperatures slightly more mild overnight in the mid 40s.
EXTENDED: Temperatures warm into the lower 70s Thursday with a chance of rain showers in the afternoon and evening, mainly near and south of I-70 from 4PM through 10PM. Under 1/4″ is likely for those south tomorrow. Friday will be cooler with highs in the mid 40s. A mix of sleet and snow moves in after 2 AM Friday night with a sleet/snow mix as temperatures fall to near freezing by Saturday morning. Snow is possible through Saturday morning and lasting through most of the day. It’s still too early to determine if we’ll see accumulation and how much. We’ll have updates in coming days as new data comes in. At this time, Sunday looks to be dry and cool with highs in the low 30s. We’ll keep an eye for possible snow returning again on Monday of next week as a possible clipper looks to move in by Monday morning.
