True/False Film Fest set to kick off Thursday

The annual True/False Film Fest is set to begin Thursday evening in Columbia.

The documentary film event runs through Sunday evening and uses venues across the city and on Mizzou’s campus to show film.

True/False is known for attracting film enthusiasts from all around the country, something Columbia resident David Beversdorf can attest.

“My sister who lives in New York City and my wife’s mother who lives in Seattle, they’re coming to see the films with us,” said Beversdorf. “We’re really excited about it. It’s a wonderful thing to support the community for one thing, and we get to see a whole lot of things going on in the world that we would absolutely not be able to see any other way.”

The festival is expected to bring thousands of people to downtown Columbia over the weekend. ABC 17 News will alert you to any traffic changes that may arise from the increased crowds.
