Woman with felony warrant in jail after leading authorities on chase overnight

A mid-Missouri woman is in the Boone County jail after allegedly leading authorities on a chase Tuesday morning.

It happened just before 1:00 Tuesday morning when a deputy reportedly tried to stop 48-year-old Melissa Harrison near Providence and Mick Deaver Drive.

Deputies say Harrison refused to stop and instead took off, starting a chase.

The chase apparently ended near Smiley Lane and Providence after Harrison hit a curb while turning and ran off the road.

She reportedly tried to run, but was quickly caught by deputies.

Deputies say Harrison had a felony statewide extradition warrant and had weed on her.

Harrison now faces possible charges of resisting arrest, driving without a license, and careless and imprudent driving, among others.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Columbia police helped in the chase.
