The flu is starting to die down as we get closer to spring.

Dr. Tara Flynn from Mizzou Quick Care and Urgent Care said last week the flu was at its peak, but this week the number of cases is starting to trend downward.

Although the flu is declining, especially in the younger age groups, Flynn said she is seeing patients of all ages with symptoms that relate to the aftermath of the flu.

These include continual coughing and upper respiratory infections.

As strange as it is to have poison ivy cases in February, the doctor has seen a few of them this week along with injuries from spring sports.
