Severe Threat Tuesday Afternoon and Overnight

UPDATE: The Enhanced Severe Threat has been shifted north and west and now includes Columbia and Jefferson City. Most areas are now under the Enhanced Risk for severe weather starting up after 3PM. The threat will increase tonight with all modes possible. There continues to be a Slight Severe Threat for the rest of Mid-Missouri for Tuesday evening and overnight.

Storms look to increase overnight before impacting counties south of HWY 54. Southeast Mid-Missouri looks to be impacted 9PM through 3AM Wednesday morning towards I-44. All modes of severe weather are possible, while the greatest risks will be damaging wind of 58 mph or greater and large hail 1″ in diameter or greater. Rainfall amounts of 0.25″ to 0.50″ looks likely for those from HWY 24 and south, and for areas north of HWY 24 under 0.25″ at this time. Be sure batteries and flash lights are near by, and weather radios have back up batteries in case of power outages.
