Traffic stop leads to foot chase in Maries County
The Marie’s County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near County Road 601 and 607 Friday night.
During the investigation, the male suspect, identified as Jeffery Burns, of Dixon, Missouri, fled to a wooded area, according to deputies.
Burns was apprehended by Sheriff’s Deputy Bret Turnbough.
Deputies suspected that controlled substances were involved, and after further investigation, they say those substances were found on Burns.
Burns remains in the Marie’s County Jail pending warrant applicaion.
