Jury selection set for man charged in officer-involved shooting

The Boone County man accused of pointing a BB gun at a mid-Missouri police officer is set to head to trial.

Charles Simcoe is charged with domestic assault, kidnapping and assault of a law enforcement officer.

He’s accused of attacking a woman at her home in Sturgeon in July. Police said an officer arrived on scene and shot Simcoe after he allegedly pointed his gun, which later turned out to be a BB gun, at the officer.

Jury selection is expected to start shortly after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
