Fire damages house in Jefferson City

The Jefferson City Fire Department was called to a structure fire in the 1200 block of Southwest Boulevard shortly after 6 Wednesday night.

According to a news release from JCFD, by the time the first crews got to the scene a neighbor had partially put it out. Crews discovered the fire spread to the attic area of the porch and were able to extinguish it.

JCFD says house has significant damage to the front porch and smoke damage throughout.

No one was home during the fire and there are no injuries. The specific cause of the fire is unknown.
