Former Pulaski County man pleads guilty to sexually abusing a child
A former Pulaski County man could face at least 30 years in federal prison after he was accused of sexually assaulting a child.
U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri Tammy Dickinson said Paul Kickery, Sr, 67, of Brattleboro, Vermont, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
According to court documents, the victim’s father contacted the Battleboro Police Department in Vermont to report that his daughter was sexually assaulted by Kickery between July 2013 and July 2014.
Kickery and the 6-year-old victim lived at the same home on the military base at Fort Leonard Wood in Pulaski County, Missouri, during the alleged abuse.
The child reportedly revealed the sexual abuse to a family member a year after it occurred.
Federal law requires Kickery to serve a minimum sentence of 30 years and up to a life sentence in federal prison without the chance of parole.
A sentencing hearing for Kickery will be scheduled once an investigation by the U.S. Probation Office is complete.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ami Harshad Miller. It was investigated by the FBI and the Battleboro, Vermont Police Department.
