Sunday morning, January 22
TODAY: Spotty showers will continue for the rest of our Sunday morning with the bulk of the rain staying south of I-70. Our southern counties have the potential to pick up anywhere from an additional 1/10″ to 1/4″ of rain. Localized areas may receive a bit more in correspondence with embedded pockets of heavier rainfall in these showers. Due to this passing system, winds will be breezy from the northwest around 9-18 mph with gusts near 26 mph. Our high will reach the lower 50s with conditions drying up after 12pm. Skies will remain cloudy for the rest of our day. By tonight, temperatures will be in the lower 40s with skies showing breakage in the clouds.
MONDAY: The start of our work week holds cooler but still favorable conditions. Temperatures in the morning will near the mid 30s, gradually increasing to the mid to upper 40s for an unseasonably warm high. Skies will be partly sunny with winds out of the northwest around 5-8 mph.
EXTENDED: We’ll start warming up again by Tuesday ahead of another storm system. There is a slight rain chance by Tuesday afternoon and again on Wednesday with the best chance for areas north of I-70. Cold arctic air will start sliding into Mid-Missouri by Wednesday evening. After this cold air settles in by Thursday morning, our temperatures will be slightly below the seasonal average for the remainder of the week.
