Dog rescued from icy pond in Columbia

A dog was rescued from an icy pond at a Columbia park Wednesday.

The rescue happened around 4:00 p.m. off Garth Avenue.

A viewer sent us the above picture and said the man who went in after the dog was able to safely get it out of the water.

Firefighters with the Columbia Fire Department were called to the scene but they said the dog was already out of the water by the time they arrived.
