Officer involved shooting on Carpenter Street in Moberly

UPDATE 5:14 p.m.: At 1:31 p.m., the Moberly Police Department was called to a “keep the peace” request at the residence of 406 West Carpenter Street.

When officers got to the scene, a white male subject, 37, began acting erratically. The subject then ran to the kitchen, where he grabbed a large knife. The subject approached the officer with the knife in a threatening manner, at which time the officer shot the subject. The subject was transported to University Medical Center and is in serious condition.

ORIGINAL STORY: A residence in Moberly is still considered an active police scene for an alleged shooting on Tuesday.

The alleged shooting took place on the 400 block of West Carpenter.

ABC 17 News has confirmed with Superintendent Dr. Matt Miller that South Park Elementary School did not go on lockdown. The school was advised of police activity in the area, but that the scene was secure and safe.
