Sunday Evening, January 8
TODAY: By tonight, temperatures will be sinking back down into the 20s with wind chills in the lower teens. Conditions will be mostly cloudy through the night.
MONDAY: The start of our work week will have much tolerable morning temperatures in the lower 20s with wind chills in the lower teens. By the afternoon, temperatures will reach well above freezing in the lower 40s across Mid-Missouri. Winds will persist out of the south around 8-10 mph, pulling in enough moisture and warmth to cause temperatures to continually rise overnight. This will also lead to a slight chance for rain after midnight.
EXTENDED: Warming continues into Tuesday as the high is expected to reach the mid 50s; a direct result from the persistent warm and moist air pulling in from the south. There is a slight chance of morning showers on Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably warm for the rest of the week with another chance for showers by Wednesday evening through Thursday. There is a chance for a wintery mix on Friday and Saturday as temperatures dip back down to seasonable averages. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
