Saturday Morning, January 7
TODAY: After another frigid start to our morning, we will feel our temperatures rise near the upper 20s under sunny skies. Wind chills throughout the day and evening will be close to matching the actual temperature due to gentle SW winds under 6 mph. Areas north and along I-70 may see a few developing clouds by this evening. Tonight will be mostly clear with temperatures dropping to the lower teens.
SUNDAY: Morning conditions will start with the low near 10 degrees, but a south breeze will warm temperatures into the low to mid 30s. We will finally see our temperatures go above freezing mainly for areas south and along I-70. Areas with that received an inch or more of snow may see temperatures persisting on the cooler side. Clouds will move into Mid-Missouri throughout the course of the day, leading to a partly sunny day with light, warm S winds around 5-9 mph.
EXTENDED: The warming continues for the start of the work week as high temperatures reach the lower 40s on Monday and mid-upper 50s on Tuesday as a SW breeze picks up. There is a chance of rain on Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably warm for the rest of the week with another chance for precipitation by Thursday night into Friday.
