Firefighters respond to home in Cooper County
The Cooper County Fire Protection District responded to a house fire in the 100 block of East Main Street in Wooldridge around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Firefighters were working to put out the fire for six hours.
The Boone County Fire Protection District also responded to the scene.
Gale Blomenkamp, assistant fire chief with Boone County, said that the residents were out of the house and had no injuries when crews arrived.
Cooper County firefighters said that the source of the fire came from a wood-burning stove.
Cooper County FPD requested an air truck and two firetrucks that hold 1,500 gallons of water from Boone County FPD.
Cooper County firefighters said that conditions were harsh because of frigid temperatures. The fire hydrants were frozen so they needed to tank water from other locations.
