Trial date set for man charged in trooper’s death

The trial for the man charged in a Missouri trooper’s death during a chase has been set for April 10.

Serghei Comerzan is scheduled to face a jury trial in St. Charles.

Comerzan is charged with second-degree murder for his alleged role in the single-car crash that killed Trooper James Bava in August 2015.

Comerzan was allegedly speeding on a motorcycle in Audrain County. Bava was reportedly chasing Comerzan when his car crashed.

In December a judge granted a change of venue, transferring the case from Audrain County to St. Charles.
