Traffic slowed on I-70 for crash, car fire

Traffic was moving slowly on I-70 Wednesday after a crash just west of the Columbia mall, later followed by a separate car fire near the Business Loop exit.

At least one eastbound lane was closed past the Stadium exit near the Sorrels overpass around 10:30 a.m. One vehicle was in a ditch in the median. Other vehicles might be involved, including a semi-truck that was pulled over on the side of the interstate. It is unclear if anyone was hurt.

Then around 12:30 p.m., crews were called for a van that was fully engulfed in flames near the Business Loop. That was affecting cars in the westbound lanes.
