Snow Chance Wednesday Night/ Thursday Morning
A chance for winter weather returns this week as arctic air settles in. Snow looks possible to develop by 11PM- midnight for those west of US 63 on Wednesday night increasing by 1AM-4AM over Columbia, ending mid morning on Thursday. The atmosphere looks to be saturated aloft and at low levels, bringing widespread snow and accumulation. As of this morning, forecast models are hinting at possible 2″ to 3″ for those near I-70 and for those near HWY 24 locally higher amounts up to 4″. From Jefferson City and near the Missouri River 1″ to 2″ looks likely and those south near the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44 0.5″ to 1″ looks good at this time.
There may be an issue by the Thursday morning rush, especially if there are still some snow bands set up. Confidence is high of snow and measurable snow in less than 24 hours. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
