Mexico man arrested on suspicion of shooting another man during argument
UPDATE 1/2 5:45 a.m: ABC17 crews talked with the Audrain County Jail. They tell us Richardson was booked at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Employees say Richardson is not being compliant and they haven’t been able to get an arresting photo yet.
ORIGINAL: A 25-year-old Mexico man was shot by a 22-year-old man during an argument about 4 p.m. Sunday on Howell Manor Court, Mexico Public Safety Department officials said.
Law enforcement officials said Daryl Richardson got into an argument with the other man and shot him twice when the man was walking away.
The wounded man was taken to University Hospital but the extent of his injuries is not known.
MPSD officers arrested Richardson four blocks away from the shooting after Mexico residents provided information of his whereabouts.
Richardson was arrested on charges of armed criminal action and assault. He will be transported to the Audrain County Jail Sunday evening.
