Monday Morning, December 19

TODAY: It will be a very cold morning with an air temperatures close to -1 to -3 for the morning commute. A south wind under 5 mph will bring a wind chill close to -10 through 8AM. High temperatures will reach the mid 20s with plenty of sun. The wind chill in the afternoon only improves slightly, reaching 12-16.

TONIGHT: Skies stay clear again overnight. By 9PM areas that have snow on the ground will likely see temperatures in the teens. Overnight temperatures will reach 14-15 with south winds 6-8 mph.

EXTENDED: Tuesday will start off cold in the teens, and slowly warm making it above freezing finally by noon on Tuesday. We’ll continue to see a warming pattern carry us through this week, with highs topping out a few degrees above average starting Wednesday. Practically all of this week will remain dry, but watching our next system take shape as we head into the Christmas Weekend. There looks to be a chance for rain starting Friday, and increasing by Sunday. Due to temperatures in the 40s during the day, and night time temperatures in the mid 30s, we’re primarily looking at rain. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
