Columbia Regional Airport open as of 9 p.m. Friday night

As of 9:00 p.m. last night, Columbia Regional Airport has been open.

Those with Saturday and Sunday flights should check their flight status at AA.com as weather conditions are expected to get worse later in the day.

Originally at 1:30 p.m., icy conditions forced the closure of Columbia Regional Airport to both arriving and departing flights. Crews are working to reopen runways as soon as possible. Flight 3420 from Chicago to Columbia was canceled due to weather in Chicago. Another flight to Columbia from Dallas was diverted to Springfield MO.

Travelers can sign up for flight alerts at AA.com.
