Winter weather advisory extended for Mid-Missouri until midnight

UPDATE 4:34 p.m.: The winter weather advisory extended for Mid-Missouri until midnight.

A wind chill advisory has been issued starting at 9:00 p.m. in the northern Columbia area on Saturday, and starting at midnight in the southern area of Columbia, continuing until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.

ORIGINAL STORY: All of Mid-Missouri, and most of the state of Missouri, is now under a winter weather advisory until 6:00 p.m. tonight for freezing drizzle.

We’ve had multiple reports from Cole County on several rollover crashes, as well as slick road ways throughout Mid-Missouri. Be cautious while driving, especially on bridges, overpasses and roads that haven’t been treated. Parking lots and sidewalks are also slick, so give yourself extra time to get to your destination.

It is usually hard to tell just how slick roadways are, so be aware that ice might start to form.
