Driver identified in deadly truck crash on Highway 54

A Centralia woman died after a crash on Highway 54 in Callaway County Thursday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Shala Taylor’s Dodge Ram ran off the right side of the road and struck a concrete grate at 2:23 p.m. The 30-year-old’s vehicle then returned to the road before running off the left side, flipping, and coming to a rest at Auxvasse Creek.

The northbound lane of Highway 54 was closed briefly while emergency crews worked the scene.
