Woman allegedly stores drugs near school

A Sedalia woman facing a long list of drug charges is due back in court later this month.

Police said they arrested 45-year-old Alice Shepherd Wednesday after serving a drug-related search warrant at her home on East Pettis Street.

Once inside, officers found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Further evidence indicated that Shepherd was storing illegal drugs in a nearby storage unit. A search warrant was gained and served at the unit, revealing more meth, LSD, marijuana and evidence of drug distribution.

Police said both Shepherd’s home and the storage unit were within 2,000 feet of Sacred Heart School.

Shepherd faces multiple charges including, but not limited to, drug trafficking, distribution of a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school, and possession of a controlled substance.

She also had a warrant out of Lee’s Summit for possession of a controlled substance.
