Columbia robbery suspect charged with attacking woman

A Columbia woman faces an assault charge after she is accused of attacking a woman who stopped to help her over the summer.

Shariffah Alimah Annie Robinson, 19, was charged with one felony count of second-degree assault in Boone County on Wednesday.

According to a probable cause statement obtained by ABC 17 News, the victim told Boone County deputies that she was flagged down by thee people in a brown car on July 11 near the intersection of Mexico Gravel Road and Highway Z in Columbia.

The woman told law enforcement officers that Robinson and the two other suspects attacked her and tried to pull her from the car.

Deputies said the woman was able to escape by driving through a ditch, two fences, before crashing in a field.

Investigators estimate $5,000 was done to the victim’s car and another $1,000 in damage to the fences.

The victim also suffered a fracture in her neck as a result of the attack and wreck.

Deputies said the woman was able to identify Robinson’s vehicle and picked her out of a six-person photo lineup.

A case review is scheduled for Robinson in Boone County Court on Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

Robinson is being held in the Boone County Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bond.

In September, Robinson was also charged in Boone County with one felony count of second-degree robbery in connection to a Columbia gas station robbery.

Deputies accuse Robinson and two other men of stealing $10 at gunpoint from the FastLane on Settlers Ridge Drive, just off State Road HH and Route B.

A court date for that case hasn’t been scheduled.
