Tire blowout causes rollover crash on southbound Hwy 63, one taken to hospital

UPDATE 4:35am: Authorities are working to clear a crash in southern Boone County that sent one person to the hospital.

Crews on scene tell ABC 17 News a tire blowout caused the rollover crash.

It happened on southbound Highway 63, just north of Deer Park Road.

Authorities tell us the driver did not appear hurt, but say that person went to the hospital to get checked out as a precaution.

The crash briefly blocked one lane of Highway 63, but crews are expected to reopen it soon. Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say they’re still investigating the crash.

Authorities on scene told our ABC 17 News crews the vehicle is totaled.

ORIGINAL: Emergency crews are responding to a reported crash in Boone County.

It happened just before 4:00 Wednesday morning.

At least eight emergency units responded to the scene in the 7500 block of southbound Highway 63. Google maps indicates that’s just north of Deer Park Road.

ABC 17 News is hearing reports that at least one lane of southbound 63 is shut down while crews work to remove the vehicle.

Our crews are on the way to the scene working to find out if anyone was hurt in the reported crash and if traffic is impacted. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
