Authorities stop vehicle for traffic violation, find drugs

Street Crimes Detectives were traveling north on Fairview Road on Tuesday night and observed a silver Pontiac Grand Am with Missouri license registration traveling in front of them. The vehicle had a malfunctioning license plate lamp. Street Crimes Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the 1000 block of Fairview Road.

As the detectives approached the vehicle, they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was Zachery Beerup and the passenger was Jay Scribner. The detectives searched the vehicle and found a vacuum sealed baggie with 216 grams of marijuana, over $3,000 in cash, three separate pieces of wax paper containing THC wax, a plastic baggie with 5.48 grams of marijuana and a glass marijuana bong.

Zachery Beerup and Jay Scribner were arrested for the distribution, delivery, manufacturing and producing of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
