Tuesday Afternoon, December 13

TODAY: Clouds are holding steady in Mid-Missouri with temperatures on the downward trend. This is all thanks to an arctic front which brought a little winter precip in some areas this more. As the arctic front sweeps through Mid-Missouri, the focus shifts to wind chill values which will be in the lower 20s for most of the day thanks to a northerly wind up to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies look to be mostly clear by evening. It will be a colder night as actual air temperatures fall to the mid teens. Winds will be light and from the north under 5 mph tonight and early Wednesday.

EXTENDED: Temperatures then stay below freezing until Friday afternoon. By Friday night a warm front looks to lift, increasing temperatures overnight and bringing a chance for thunderstorms through Saturday. Over the weekend, Saturday will be the milder day with highs near normal in the low 40s. As a cold front starts to move in by Saturday afternoon, the changeover from rain to a wintry mix is possible. By Sunday morning a northwest breeze and dry air takes hold as high pressure starts to return and sunshine, along with frigid temperatures with highs in the low 20s.
