Monday Afternoon, December 12
TODAY: Sunny skies are a welcoming sight here in Mid-Missouri, but even with that temperatures are chilly. Highs through the day will top out in the mid 30s, with wind chill values remaining in the upper 20s. After sunshine this afternoon, clouds will work their way back in by 2pm.
TONIGHT: Clouds look to increase tonight bringing overcast conditions. Temperatures will dip to the upper 20s before the next blast of arctic air returns on Tuesday.
EXTENDED: There is a slight chance for winter precipitation of mainly a rain/snow mix from 3AM-7AM near the Lake of the Ozarks on Tuesday morning. We’ll start off Tuesday in the 20s, with temperatures not varying too much during the day. Look for a mostly cloudy sky in the morning, followed by sunshine during the afternoon. Temperatures will drop to the teens by Tuesday night. Once the Arctic cold front passes, a high pressure system will build causing freezing temperatures to engulf the Midwest from Wednesday through Friday. A warm front looks to lift by Saturday bringing temperatures to the mid 40s and a chance for rain and snow during the day. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
