Saturday Evening, December 10

TONIGHT: The overcast skies stick around through the remainder of the evening. Thanks to the clouds and southerly winds, temperatures won’t fall as low as what we have been seeing. Compared to the past several nights, tonight will be a mild one with a low of 30 degrees. Winds remaining out of the southeast up to 15 mph, with wind chill values in the lower 20s.

SUNDAY: Another low pressure system tracks across Missouri Sunday bringing a chance of rain. Patchy drizzle is possible in the morning mainly west of HWY 63. If this develops, there could be slick spots on roads along and north of I-70 where temperatures will be near freezing through 10 AM. Bridges and overpasses can be several degrees cooler than roads and are usually the first to freeze. A better chance of rain moves in after the noon hour as temperatures climb well above freezing, keeping it as all rain. There is a possible a rain/snow mix to those north of HWY 24 through Sunday evening. Rainfall amounts look light, .10 to .20″. Freezing temperatures are likely Sunday night which could refreeze any rain that may be on roads Sunday night-into Monday morning.

EXTENDED: High temperatures reach near 40 Monday with another blast of arctic air on the way by Tuesday afternoon, dropping temperatures into the single digits to lower teens Tuesday night and highs only reaching the low 20s Wednesday.
