Friday Morning December 9
TODAY: We’ll start off the day even colder then Thursday with temperatures near 10-15 and a wind chill from 0-7 through 8AM. Wind chill readings will improve this afternoon as a northwest wind is light today under 8 mph under a mostly sunny sky. Look for afternoon wind chills in the low 20s with afternoon highs near 28-29.
TONIGHT: High level clouds increase to areas north of I-70 tonight, while areas south look to stay mostly clear. Temperatures will fall to the upper teens again with winds becoming variable.
EXTENDED: After a cold, clear morning with lows in the upper teens, clouds will increase Saturday with high temperatures in the upper 30s and an increasing southerly breeze up to 12 mph. Another low pressure system tracks across Missouri Sunday bringing a chance for rain to those south of I-70 and possible a rain/snow mix to those north through Sunday evening. Rainfall amounts look close to .10 to .20″. Freezing temperatures look to increase by Sunday night. This could essentially refreeze any rain that may be on roads, especially elevated surfaces Sunday night-into Monday morning. High temperatures stay in the upper 30s through Monday with another blast of arctic air on the way by Tuesday afternoon, dropping temperatures into the single digits to lower teens Tuesday night and highs only reaching near 20 Wednesday. There is a slight chance of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
