10 die on Missouri roads during Thanksgiving holiday period

UPDATE: Ten people were killed on Missouri roads during the long Thanksgiving weekend, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

According to the report, there were 400 traffic crashes across the state, 124 of them resulting in injuries.

Troopers arrested 103 people for driving while intoxicated and made 100 drug busts over the weekend.

No fatal traffic crashes were reported in mid-Missouri.

ORIGINAL: A total of 99 crashes, eight resulting in fatalities, were recorded over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend before the tally period ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Missouri Highway Patrol said.

Tallying for the weekend holiday began at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Five crashed were reported in mid-Missouri, and none of them were fatal.

A serious crash was reported Friday in Montgomery County. The crash was reported at mile marker 166 on I-70. The 62-year-old driver’s car overturned several times and the driver was taken to the University Hospital by helicopter.
