Sunday Morning, November 27
TODAY: Skies will remain cloudy as the chance for rain makes its way into Mid-Missouri by this afternoon. A passing warm front that is associated with the passing cold front will be bringing the first wave of rain and the potential for non-severe thunderstorms. Areas north of US 24 could see rain accumulate to around 0.25″ to 0.5″. Areas south of US 24 could see anywhere around 0.1″ to 0.25″ of rain. The high for today will reach the mid 50s. Temperatures will remain consistent over night with a low in the lower 50s due to thick clouds overnight. Also expect windy conditions today with winds around 7-16 mph and gusts around 26 mph out of the south. The chance for rain will continue overnight.
MONDAY: Morning temperatures will be mild due to the heavy cloud cover retaining the heat near the surface. The chance for scattered rain and possible thunderstorms will carry out all day Monday due to the passing of the cold front. The best chance for the second wave of rain will be in the afternoon for areas along and east of I-44. Anywhere from 0.1″ to 0.5″ can be expected for the southeast portion of our viewing area. The high temperature is expected to reach the 60s due to warm southerly wind pouring into Mid-Missouri during the day. Winds will also persist strong and out of the south at 10-15 mph with gusts reaching as high as 29 mph. The frontal passage is expected by the evening time, so isolated showers are possible until conditions begin to clear out overnight Monday.
EXTENDED: Colder air moves in by next Tuesday with highs maxing out at 50 degrees. Dry conditions, sunny skies, and colder temperatures are expected for the rest of the week. Highs will stay in the 40s into the weekend. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
