Woman arrested for drugs, almost caused accident with patrol vehicle

On Wednesday morning, an officer conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle almost caused an accident with the officer’s patrol vehicle near Paris Road and Monroe Street.

The officer saw the passenger, later identified as Mallory Simpson, throw items from the vehicle before she was stopped. The items thrown from the vehicle were recovered and identified as heroin and syringes.

Mallory was arrested for the possession of controlled substance with a bond of $4,500, possession of drug paraphernalia with a bond of $500, misdemeanor warrant for the original charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia with a bond of $250 and a probation and parole warrant.
