Homicide suspect facing new charges

A woman charged in connection with a Columbia homicide is facing assault charges after an incident inside the Boone County Jail Thursday.

The sheriff’s department said Jaclyn Rose threw an object at a jail corrections officer. The officer was not injured.

Rose is now facing charges of assault on a law enforcement officer. She was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of Gregory Moore at the Welcome Inn motel on Nov. 17.

She’s currently being held on a $1 million cash-only bond.
