Heavy police presence on Stella Street in Montgomery City

UPDATE 11/23: Zachary Prior has been charged with attempt to distribute a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, keeping a public nuisance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Montgomery City Police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s office teamed up with the Central Drug Task Force to search Prior’s residence. They said they found a large amount of methamphetamine, a pistol and drug paraphernalia.

The probable cause statement says law enforcement also found eight digital cameras and a security surveillance monitor.

The Montgomery City police were tipped off earlier Wednesday morning that there were possibly human remains on the property. The Sheriff’s Office and Police Department obtained another search warrant. After checking the property, they concluded there were no human remains.

UPDATE 11/23: ABC 17 News has confirmed that on Tuesday, officials were clearing a house of drugs. Two people are in custody, and their identifies will be released when formal charges are filed.

ORIGINAL STORY: ABC 17 News has confirmed that there is crime scene tape and a heavy police presence blocking off Stella and Patton streets, near the 700 block.

Montgomery City police are not letting anyone in or out, and they aren’t releasing any information other than confirming that the area is under an ongoing investigation.
