Cole county shooting suspect possibly sighted

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department has alerted ABC17 that shooting suspect, 29 year-old Jerry Dean Gill, has possibly been sighted in the Routet D and Kaylor Bridge area of Cole County. Law enforcement officers are in the area attempting to confirm the sighting.

Gill is being sought after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend against her will, and then shooting at her twice in County Park. She was hit once in the forearm, and was transported to an area hospital. He is currently wanted for two counts of domestic assault, armed criminal action, and false imprisonment. He is considered armed and dangerous.
