Woman shot at County Park near Jefferson City, suspect identified
UPDATE 11/22: The Cole County Sheriff’s Department responded to County Park for a weapons violation. Reportedly, a male subject was shooting at a female, and the female was shot. The suspect left the scene.
Two bystanders picked up the female, headed towards the hospital and called 911. While responding to the call, deputies found the victim and the bystanders in front of Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Deputies requested EMS and administered first aid. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Jerry Dean Gill. He currently has an active warrant for:
two counts of domestic assault, armed criminal action and false imprisonment. Gill was last seen driving a white, 2006 Chrysler 300, with the license plate of WK2H8A.
If located, please contact your local law enforcement agency. This subject should be considered armed and dangerous. Jefferson City Area Crimestoppers has issued a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of Jerry Dean Gill.
ORIGINAL STORY: A woman was shot in the shoulder at County Park around 3:45 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The victim was brought to University Hospital for treatment. There is no suspect description as of now, but ABC 17 News will continue to follow this story for updates.
