Friday Afternoon, November 18

TODAY: A cold front has cleared Mid-Missouri and is currently closing in on the I-44 corridor. Not a lot of rain was associated with this front, as drier air quickly eroded any chance of seeing rain. Although no rain was seen with this rain, t emperatures will fall through the day, dropping to the mid to upper 40s by evening with gusty westerly winds to 30 mph.

TONIGHT: A west/northwesterly breeze will continue overnight with skies clearing. Temperatures should be 30 degrees colder tonight falling to 30. The wind chill will read in the 30s by 5PM and by early Saturday morning the wind chill should be near 20-22.

EXTENDED: By early Saturday morning, lows will drop to near 30 but an icy breeze near 12 mph will make it feel more like 20 at daybreak. Saturday will be mostly sunny, breezy and cold with high temperatures only reaching the mid 40s with wind chills in the 30s. A hard freeze looks likely Saturday night as temperatures drop below freezing for 9-11 hours with low temperatures in the mid 20s by Sunday morning. Sunday will still be cool with highs near 50 north of I-70 and into the lower 50s south with lighter winds. High temperatures stay in the 50s most of next week with rain likely Tuesday, moving out Tuesday night. Right now it looks mostly sunny for Thanksgiving with highs in the upper 50s. We’ll be keeping an eye for possible rain for Black Friday. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
