Wind Advisory and Red Flag Warning Thursday

A Red Flag Warning and Wind Advisory will be valid today (Thursday) for central and southern Mid-Missouri. A Red Flag Warning is issued when relative humidity is likely to fall below 25% and strong southerly winds can increase rapid fire growth. Warm temperatures in the upper 70s/ to low 80s will aid in fire development. Outdoor burning should be avoided today.

A Wind Advisory will be valid starting as early as 10AM for Pettis, Benton, and Saline counties. Sustained winds of 30 mph are possible along with wind gusts of 45 mph.
