New sports and outdoor retailer to bring 100 new jobs to Columbia

A premier sports, outdoor, and lifestyle retailer will be bringing 100 new jobs to Columbia when it’s seventh Missouri location opens soon.

Academy Sports + Outdoors will be located in Trimble Road and will encompass nearly 63,000 square feet of retail space. The Columbia location will include gear for Mizzou and Cardinal fans, as well as a wide range of products and services for everyone’s sports, outdoor, and lifestyle needs.

Academy Sports + Outdoors is one of the nation’s largest sporting goods and outdoor stores. In business since 1938, Academy operates over 200 stores, in 15 states.

The Columbia location is expected to open in early 2017.
