Callaway County burglary suspect arrested in Kansas City

A Kansas City man was arrested in connection to a burglary in Callaway County this week.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, the burglary happened August 28 at a business in the 1900 block of Old Highway 40 near the Callaway and Boone County line.

During the burglary, several all-terrain vehicles were stolen and a fire was set inside the business.

Leads over the next several weeks pointed the sheriff’s office to identify Timothy Morris, 32, as the suspect.

On October 4, an arrest warrant was issued for Morris on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property and arson.

Morris was located weeks later and arrested by Kansas City Police. On Wednesday, he was extradited to the Callaway County Jail and was being held on a $10,000 bond.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation.
