Man in custody after car chase reaches up to 100 mph
One man is in custody Tuesday morning after leading deputies on a high speed chase.
Terrell Sims was arrested early Tuesday morning after failing to yield to authorities.
The chase initially started around 1:40 a.m. after a deputy with the Boone County Sheriffs Department saw a driver speeding and attempted to pull him over on Route B near Ketterer Road.
Sims proceeded to take off and the chase began. A deputy with the sheriff department tells ABC17 that speeds reached up to 100 miles per hour.
Sims eventually stopped the car near Brown Station and Gene Drive. That’s where deputies say Sims and two other people took off running.
The deputy was able to catch Sims after he ran down a dead end road in the area.
The two passengers in the vehicle got away.
Officials say the vehicle Sims was driving was reported stolen in Columbia.
On Tuesday Sims was in the Boone County Jail.
