Veterans Day celebrated at state capitol
A ceremony was held honoring veterans at the state capitol Friday.
Almost 100 veterans and family members came out to the Veteran’s Day event in the capitol rotunda. It was put on by the Jefferson City Veteran’s Council.
The ceremony included music, a 21-gun salute, and a playing of taps.
Days after an extremely contentious and decisive election, many veterans told ABC 17 News it’s a good reminder to celebrate the service these men and woman provide to the country.
U.S. Army Veteran Warren Krech said, “Every veteran did something no matter what their job was. They may not have all been combat heroes, but we all did our part as best we could and worked as hard as we could for this country.
